Her Work

Shawna Presley Vercher is an award-winning political media strategist and social justice advocate. She is the founder of Reine Media, a firm she founded as a crisis strategist and specialist in government & political affairs. During the pandemic, she launched the film & online media divisions of Reine Media and received the COVID Hero award for her work as the Executive Producer for global social justice content.

Shawna has worked for notable figures and brands, lending her talents to Fortune 100 companies, award-winning celebrities, and campaigns for President, Governor, the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. House of Representatives.

Shawna has successfully generated the awareness and consensus required to pass Federal and State legislation. She has a passion for mobilizing people, knowing that together, we can create positive change.

Her Media Coverage

Shawna has been a political pundit for a Florida-owned network of ABC-affiliated radio stations, a national news host on America’s Radio News Network, an on-air commentator for CBS-affiliated television news stations, and a Florida Political Correspondent for the Huffington Post.

Her most notable coverage includes the 2008 election of President Barack Obama, the 2011 Tucson shooting, the 2012 Republican National Convention, and ABC News special coverage of the Sandy Hook shooting. Her coverage is recognized as personable and approachable by voters from all over the political spectrum. After all, she is a Democrat who grew up in a small, “red” town in Texas.

Shawna’s special ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds and penetrate news cycles typically governed by click-bait has helped campaigns craft and successfully amplify key messages that voters relate to.

Her Media Response

In the highly visible political environment, crafting issue-based content is only the beginning. It’s critical that you react rapidly to attacks from your opponents, and respond appropriately.

  • Media training/response on behalf of the Parkland community following the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High & throughout committee hearings
  • Crisis and legislative messaging for AMIkids, a juvenile justice nonprofit based in Florida with operations in ten states
  • Messaging and media avails for actress Phylicia Rashad during a public scandal

Building a successful movement demands a level head during crisis, the ability to quickly shift narratives, and the empathy to prepare someone for media interviews during the most vulnerable moment of their lives. Shawna has it all.
